NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- My 53-man Titans roster prediction ahead of NFL cut-down day Tuesday.

Quarterbacks (2): Cam Ward, Brandon Allen

I think Trevor Siemian may actually get some consideration over Allen as the Titans prepare to consider options that come free. Allen just doesn’t have enough arm.

Running backs (4): Tony Pollard, Tyjae Spears, Julius Chestnut, Kalel Mullings

There is an outside chance Spears heads to IR with the high ankle sprain. And now Mullings has an ankle too, though it sounds less serious. Chestnut is very likely a one-day placeholder as the Titans hunt for a waiver-wire back who is more of a three-down type.

Receivers (7):

Calvin Ridley, Tyler Lockett, Van Jefferson, Elic Ayomanor, Chimere Dike, Bryce Oliver, James Proche

Proche had a good camp. It’s felt as if he’s got to be the punt returner to make it. And if he’s the punt returner, then he’s active and they won’t have seven receivers active, and they can’t deactivate Oliver, their best gunner, or Dike, who they want to grow. So I think Dike will return punts.

Receivers and tight ends are tied together in the numbers and they finished last season with 11 total, seven receivers and four tight ends. We’ve got to get to 10 at least. Proche is one of their best 53 for sure. He’s in at least for now, even as the inactive.

Tight ends (3): Chig Okonkwo, Gunnar Helm, David Martin Robinson

Thomas Odukoya’s seems to have run its course. And it’s pretty clear this team doesn’t like Josh Whyle. If they want a fourth, they should shop.

Tackles (3): Dan Moore, JC Latham, Oli Udoh

Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson will head to the practice squad. I’m going with Udoh over John Ojukwo, but that is a toss-up. Jaelyn Duncan is a goner for his lack of want-to. I consider Blake Hance swingable here.

Guards (4): Peter Skoronski, Kevin Zeitler, Jackson Slater, Blake Hance

Hance can also play tackle. Slater could probably play center in a jam and in the long run.

Centers (2): Lloyd Cushenberry, Corey Levin

I think Cushenberry will be ready for Denver.

Defensive line (5): Jeffery Simmons, T’Vondre Sweat, Sebastian Joseph-Day, James Lynch, Timmy Horne

Cam Horsley isn’t long, which is what Dennard Wilson prefers. But the undrafted rookie can stuff the run in a short-yardage situation. Can that get him past Horne? Carlos Watkins seems to have been more active in games, but I haven’t heard his name. Horne could be replaced quickly if he makes it.

Outside linebacker (5):  Dre’Mont Jones, Arden Key, Femi Oladejo, Jihad Ward, Ali Gaye.

Ward has shown some versatility and cannot just play on the line, but on the inside. That’s added value. Gaye has tantalizing length at 6-foot-6 and 265 pounds. He or whoever is last here can be a quick cut. Desmond Evans would have been my flier as an undrafted, but I’ve heard no internal buzz, so practice squad.

Inside linebacker (4): Cody Barton, Cedric Gray, James Williams, Curtis Jacobs.

They are certainly feeling better about Gray and Williams. Jacobs could be quickly replaced.

Safety (5): Amani Hooker, Xavier Woods, Kevin Winston, Quandre Diggs, Mike Brown

I think they will have a package for Diggs and that could take snaps from Gray/Williams. They’ll be one for Winston too, but I don’t know how soon based on his recovery and missed time. Brown is a solid special teamer they need.

Cornerback (6): L’Jarius Sneed, Jarvis Brownlee, Roger McCreary, Darrell Baker, Marcus Harris, Gabe Jeudy-Lally.

Jeudy-Lally hasn’t had the camp he did last year, but he got a lot of run as behind McCreary at nickel and with Sneed’s health an uncertainty the Titans would be wise to stay a bit heavy here. They finished last season with five corners and nine DBs.

Specialists (3): Morgan Cox, Joey Slye, Johnny Hekker

Cox remains a stud long-snapper, Slye’s coming off a big game and Hekker finished the preseason strong.
