NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Titans have asked Kevin Stefanski, Matt Nagy and Jeff Hafley back for second interviews for their head coaching job.
It’s still possible the list could grow. I reported early this week that it would be five finalists at most.
Mike Borgonzi and his four-person committee are still completing the first round with an in-person meeting with Mike McCarthy on Saturday, an in-person meeting with Jonathan Gannon on Sunday and a Zoom call with Robert Saleh on Sunday evening.
Stefanski is slated to visit the Titans Sunday to start the second round. But he’s in Atlanta Saturday and could be hired to coach the Falcons before he gets to Nashville, which would be another reason for the Titans to add to their list.
The Titans' first round list included 16 candidates.
Beyond Stefanski, Nagy, Hafley, McCarthy, Gannon, and Saleh, the list included former NFL head coaches Mike McDaniel, Vance Joseph, Raheem Morris, Arthur Smith, Brian Daboll, Jason Garrett, and Titans interim coach Mike McCoy, as well as Steve Spagnuolo, Lou Anarumo, and Jesse Minter.
Tennessee expressed interest in Kliff Kingsbury and Chris Shula, but interviews never happened.
Borgonzi, Chad Brinker and Amy Adams Strunk were ready to go to Owings Mills, Md. to meet with John Harbaugh. He reached an agreement with the Giants before they had a chance.
The Titans fired Brian Callahan after six games in 2025 and McCoy finished out the season. Borgonzi will choose the new coach with Strunk's approval. She was not involved in the first round, but wil be part of the second-round interviews.
