After two years of closed camps, Titans will have some open practices

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- After Covid-19 and construction kept fans out of Tennessee Titans' training camp practices the last two years, this year's summer schedule will include open practices at their headquarters.

The official schedule will be released sometime in the coming weeks. Players report to training camp on July 26.

The team has traditionally held a training camp practice or two at Nissan Stadium and even at a local high school. [Unlocked]

But since it last practiced in front of fans during training camp in 2019, the pandemic closed things down and a new building has gone up along most of the sideline that housed the bulk of the bleachers during previous camps,

The new footprint left me wondering if there would be room for fans.

There is still space for stands where the new building ends as well as across the back of the three end zones and the offensive/defensive line practice areas close to Amulet Lake and along the sideline of the far practice field opposite the new building.

Parking could be an issue as the warehouse building across the street from the St. Thomas Sports Park appears to have been sold and may not be available for fans.

I'm thinking the combination of limited bleachers and parking could lead to a free ticketing system which some teams use to control numbers.

The Titans will host joint practices with both the Buccaneers, who they host at Nissan Stadium on Aug. 20, and the Cardinals, who visit Nashville for a game on Aug. 27.
