Calvin RidleyNASHVILLE, Tenn. – On July 24, the first day of training camp, Calvin Ridley said he needed to get in shape and learn the offense.

The idea he needed to get in shape was striking, as he was standing shirtless in front of a large group of media and looked to be as thin as is humanly possible while still being alive.

We definitely can get in more shape man,” he said. “That running, there is just something about putting on that helmet and coming out. I can go to the field in the offseason and run around all day, feel good. As soon as you get out here, it’s like I don’t know man, you just get tired.”

Now the Titans have made it through two days in pads. They’ve got two more Saturday and Sunday. Football shape is nearing.

After Tuesday’s practice Ridley gave an update.

“I’m in shape, I feel like I can run now,” he said. “My breathing is good. Now I’ve got to get used to moving in the pads. I felt like I was solid in the first day in pads.”

How long until he considers himself football-ready?
