The Titans are preaching patience with Cam Ward. But time to throw, open receivers and little production against the Jets raise questions about how quickly he is developing.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – At least the Titans are not pretending Cam Ward is somewhere he is not.
Sunday’s poor performance in the opener was probably worse than the numbers. He threw screens both into the dirt and over the target’s head. He passed on open targets and appeared hesitant to push the ball downfield.
Ward did nothing Sunday to make himself look like the star the Titans drafted him to become.
