NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Heading into his second season, how does Cam Ward compare to highly drafted Titans quarterbacks of the past?
That’s a question I fielded a great deal throughout the offseason.
I didn’t have great instant recall of what I thought about Vince Young, Jake Locker, Marcus Mariota and Will Levis as they approached Year Two. So I went back through what I wrote at the time, along with some outside coverage, to refresh my memory.
The patience I had with each quarterback depended on what he'd shown, what the Titans had invested in him and what alternatives they had.
"I think I am way more intelligent in terms of the NFL game," Ward said Wednesday as the Titans installed their game plan for Sunday's season-opener against the Jets. "I think playing on time is a is a is a big factor in us being successful on offense. I think the more I can do that, it's going to put myself and the offense in a better situation."
