L'Jarius SneedJudge Dianne K. Jones of Dallas County, Texas, has ordered the civil trial involving L’Jarius Sneed -- stemming from an incident that led to an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge -- to mediation.

Jones notified attorneys representing both plaintiff Christian Nshimiyimana and Sneed of the order on Thursday, sending the case to mediator James J. Juneau.

Juneau will set up a session and try to get the parties to reach an agreement.

Nshimiyimana’s suit alleges that Sneed and associate John Doe pulled up in a rented Lamborghini Urus on Dec. 6, 2024 and shot multiple times at him in a Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon, which was struck by bullets as was One Legacy Motors, which it was parked outside.

Nshimiyimana seeks over $1 million in compensatory damages, fees and relief for infliction of bodily injury (though there were no reported gunshot wounds), threat of bodily injury, intentional infliction of emotional distress, civil conspiracy and negligence.

Sneed denied any part in the accusations.

“Defendant is not liable as alleged by Plaintiff because the alleged conduct was the criminal act of a third party,” his attorney Michael J. Todd wrote in his official answer to the suit. “The alleged acts, if any, were performed by John Doe without any assistance, encouragement, or direction by L’Jarius Sneed.”

Police in Carrollton, Texas forwarded the charge against Sneed to officials in Dallas County.

The district attorney’s office there has not yet filed for a grand jury date to indict Sneed in the criminal case.
