NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Following the Titans' season-ending loss to the Texans at Nissan Stadium that left them at 3-14 and gave them the No. 1 pick in the draft, Paul Kuharsky asked me a series of questions related to the team's current situation.

We started with my experience as part of the team's front office the last time the team had the top pick in the draft, in 2016.

What did you guys feel like when you had No.1?

In 2016, multiple players were worthy of the first pick: Jared Goff, Joey Bosa, Jalen Ramsey and DeForest Buckner all at premium positions. It is a comfortable feeling knowing that you can at least get an All-Pro level player at a premium position if you decide to make the choice.

Every team wants a franchise-changing quarterback like Peyton Manning or Andrew Luck when picking first overall, a guaranteed productive player. But that usually doesn’t happen.
