At 1-6, coming off a 52-14 beatdown in Detroit, it’s safe to say that the Titans' aspirations of being a playoff team in 2024 are sufficiently out of reach. The team seemed to admit as much last week when they dealt away a couple of contributors on expiring contracts in DeAndre Hopkins and Ernest Jones.

Since Tony Pollard’s 23-yard touchdown run against the Colts in Week 6, the Titans have been outscored 96-24 over nine quarters of action. The performance against the red-hot Lions, while expected, showed exactly how far away Tennessee currently is from the true contenders of the sport.

Spare me the total yardage and “ifs and buts” comparisons about turnovers and special teams. The fact is that turnovers and special teams gaffes are a staple of this football team right now.
