The Titans made quite a bit of mid-week news for an 0-3 team over the past few days, between the surprising trade of starting cornerback Jarvis Brownlee Jr. and the relinquishing of play-calling duties by embattled head coach Brian Callahan.

A big part of the sales pitch for Callahan as a head coach when he was hired almost two years ago was the fact that he’d give the Titans stability in the critical role of offensive play caller, something that has benefited teams like the 49ers, Chiefs, and Bengals during their development of young quarterbacks.

The idea made sense as the Titans would be developing a young quarterback themselves – at the time they thought it would be Will Levis – and stability in that crucial relationship would help foster growth.
