NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Jeffery Simmons says that Arden Key won his appeal of a pending six-game suspension for violating the NFL's rules against performance-enhancing drugs and won't miss any games.

Jeffery Simmons tweet

I reported Key's pending suspension on July 30, a day after former Titans Denico Autry announced on Twitter that he was suspended for six games under the same policy and offered an explanation.

Publicly known appeal wins of PED suspensions are rare, as the process is typically complete before the league announces a suspension. [Unlocked]

It's a giant development for the Titans, who will now have Key for games against Caleb Williams, Aaron Rogers, Jordan Love, Tua Tagovailoa, Anthony Richardson and Josh Allen.

Brian Callahan talked early after he became the head coach of Key as a situational pass rusher but later spoke of the opportunity for the outside linebacker to be more than that based on the team's roster situation.

Key has not lost practice time with the first team since the pending suspension became known, though Callahan said the team expected he would be gone at some point and indicated the Titans would adjust practice snaps once they officially knew he'd be missing.

After Harold Landry and Key, the Titans are thin at edge.

Rashad Weaver is next in line. Seventh-round rookie Jaylen Harrell has drawn praise. Shane Ray has not played in five years due to injuries. Caleb Murphy, Thomas Rush and undrafted rookie Khalid Duke have had quiet camps.
