Chad BrinkerNASHVILLE, Tenn. – Lingering questions I have for, and about, Chad Brinker, the Titans president of football operations who effectively became the team’s football czar Tuesday when general manager Ran Carthon was fired.

💥 “Final say” is a big deal. How much did Ran Carthon use his in the last year in personnel decisions? How much will Brinker use his now going forward?

Brinker’s imprint is certainly on the last year of what the Titans did, when he held the newly created title in an odd role where he outranked the GM while the GM officially had final say on personnel, according to what the team told us.
 
It’s clearly a super-important caveat that Brinker is the final authority on all football matters now. That will turn away some high-level GM possibilities. The job will still be a promotion for plenty of good people who
