When the Titans signed Calvin Ridley this offseason to a four-year, $92 million contract, they certainly had visions of something more than what we’ve seen so far. Tennessee’s prized free agent acquisition has been targeted a team-high 36 times over six games but has hauled in just 12 of those passes for a total of 183 yards.

For anyone who has watched this team in 2024, quarterback play is certainly part of this problem. Will Levis and Mason Rudolph have both struggled to move the football on offense and have combined for 12 turnovers.

However, that explanation doesn’t quite cut it. After all, if it were just poor quarterback play, that would translate fairly evenly across all wide receivers, right? But that isn’t the case. No, none of the other receivers are lighting up the box score but they’re also not anywhere close to Ridley’s 33 percent catch rate.

In fact, Ridley is the only Titans pass catcher who has a sub-50 percent catch rate on the season. All the other starters are north of 70 percent, more than double the rate that Tennessee quarterbacks are connecting when targeting Ridley.
