NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Titans didn’t only hire an offensive skill assistant this offseason, they hired a kicking coach.
Mike Vrabel revealed the addition of James Wilhoit while he spoke to the press on Friday. But when I asked his title he said to check the team’s website.
Wilhoit isn’t on there. (Unlocked.)
It would seem he did a good job getting himself hired, as he called out the Titans for not having a kicker coach in October of 2020.
Succop & Santos now have kicking coaches on their new teams. Why do the Titans not have someone who is solely focused on assisting the kickers?? https://t.co/jDVENvIpOp

I applaud the addition and you can hear all about it in this clip from the press conference.

Still, I do not believe that Tucker McCann or Blake Haubeil will be the solution for the nonchalant Titans at a position that has been a giant concern for the last two seasons. This was Thursday, a day after both were perfect.
Kickers went from 37, 33, 40, 43, 49.

Haubeil wide right from 37 and 49.
McCann wide right from 40 and 49. #Titans.
Wilhoit will give those guys a better chance.
But the Titans should give him a better player. Stephen Gostkowski is going to be here eventually, I’d bet.
Not great. But better.
