NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Bill Callahan, the veteran offensive line coach who left the Browns to join his son's staff in Nashville in 2024, is leaving the team after it fired his son, head coach Brian Callahan.

Bill Callahan has long considered an offensive line guru because of the players he helped develop ncluding Lincoln Kennedy, D’Brickashaw Ferguson, Nick Mangold, Hall of Famer Alan Faneca, Jack Conklin, Joel Bitonio, Brandon Scherff, Trent Williams, Tyron Smith and Zack Martin.

But the coach did not have anything close to the same degree of success with the Titans, and that was a big piece of his son's failure as a head coach.

With the senior Callahan managing the line, the Titans drafted JC Latham seventh overall in 2024.

He had a shaky rookie year at left tackle, He lost major weight for his second season, for which he was moved back to his college position at right tackle. But he strained a hip in the opener, returned for Sunday's game in Oakland and struggled against top pass rusher Maxx Crosby, allowing two sacks and multiple pressures.

The Titans signed Dan Moore to a big free agent contract to play left tackle and he's been average at best, which is what he was in Pittsburgh. Lloyd Cushenberry, the big free agent center signing in the 2024 market, was average in a half season last year before tearing his Achilles, and has not gotten close to his Denver form.

Only Peter Skoronski, drafted in the first round in 2023, has shown big development under Callahan's watch.

Scott Fuchs, Callahan's hand picked assistant, is likely the new chief position coach.
