The Paul Kuharsky Podcast: The Titans' Building Analytics Systems

The Paul Kuharsky PodcastNASHVILLE, Tenn. -- One of the top Titans pushed money from this year to next year to pave the way for DeAndre Hopkins. Now Kevin Byard is enjoying the energy a big-time receiver brings to the team at the start of camp.

But he's seen a similar scenario before and knows the Titans need to put in the work and get things done beyond paper in order for it to be meaningful.

That's where I begin the new episode of the podcast, which awaits you on Apple, Spotify, Google Podcasts, TuneIn and iHeart as well as YouTube, which is below.

Other subjects I dive into:

πŸ’₯ The Titans building analytic systems and the wait for examples of what they can do
πŸ’₯ The Titans' terrible lack of depth and the one position where they might be able to survive injury
πŸ’₯ I missed the end of Barbie and need someone to fill me in
πŸ’₯ The training camp schedule and veterans' options to skip hotel life

The Paul Kuharsky Podcast: A Better Chance For The Titans This Time

The Paul Kuharsky PodcastNASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Randy Moss, Andre Johnson and Julio Jones were tremendous receivers who offered hope to the Titans that they would bring some late-career juice.

Instead, Tennessee got virtually nothing out of them.

That's part of why doubt comes with DeAndre Hopkins.

But there are legitimate reasons to think the 31-year-old could be different, and I get into that in this week's edition of the Podcast.

The new episode awaits you on Apple, Spotify, Google Podcasts, TuneIn, iHeart and YouTube, which is below.

The Paul Kuharsky Podcast: Why The Titans Waited For 2024 Rebuild

The Paul Kuharsky PodcastNASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Earlier this week I looked at the Titans' 2024 depth chart based on who they currently have under contract next year.

It's not pretty, and it will be awfully difficult to avoid calling it a rebuild.

Some of you read that and wondered, why wait?

That's where I start this week's road edition of the podcast.

The Paul Kuharsky Podcast: An Area Where Mike Vrabel Is Converting Me

The Paul Kuharsky PodcastNASHVILLE, Tenn. -- When the Titans are flat, we look for energy from players to get the team started.Β

But Mike Vrabel is not a big believer in the idea that energy produces plays.

"Energy is brought by making plays on the field," he said in 2019. "Finishing. Whether it be a block downfield, an extra effort run, a great catch. The people who make plays are the ones who bring energy. That’s who we count on.”

I've always thought he overly downplayed the amount of energy that could come from non-playmakers. But watching u13 baseball last weekend did a lot to convert me to Vrabel's thinking.

That's a piece of this week's podcast.

The new episode awaits you on Apple, Spotify, Google Podcasts, TuneIn, iHeart and YouTube, which is below.

Podcast: The Wrong Comparison for the Titans

The Paul Kuharsky PodcastNASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Will Levis has been on display for three OTA practices and three minicamp practices and he benefitted from too many comparisons to Malik Willis, a quarterback project who was a bomb as a rookie.

It's super-early, but there still should have been at least some moments where we saw a guy who looked like a potential successor to Ryan Tannehill.

I didn't really see them.

That's where we start this week's podcast.

The new episode awaits you on Apple, Spotify, Google Podcasts, TuneIn, iHeart and YouTube, which is below.

Other subjects I dive into:

πŸ’₯ Ryan Tannehill's new kind of takeoff
πŸ’₯ Colton Dowell's hand technique
πŸ’₯ Stars on Mars
πŸ’₯ Kristian Fulton getting it is good, but it taking this long is bad

The Paul Kuharsky PodcastNASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Charles London believes in going full speed with his quarterbacks and he's teaching at a 300-level.

What's that mean for the group he's working with right now?

That's where I begin the new episode of the podcast, which awaits you on Apple, Spotify, Google Podcasts, TuneIn and iHeart as well as YouTube, which is below.

Podcast: The Titans' actual speed

The Paul Kuharsky PodcastNASHVILLE, Tenn. -- When the Titans talked about getting faster, the reasonable presumption was they'd add faster players, particularly at play-making spots.

Instead this week they were talking about running a more efficient offense that would allow their guys to maximize the speed they have.

What a letdown.

That's where I begin the new episode of the podcast, which awaits you on Apple, Spotify, Google Podcasts, TuneIn and iHeart as well as YouTube, which is below.

Other subjects I dive into:

πŸ’₯ Past player peaks and what they mean to Tim Kelly

Podcast: The Calloused Titans

The Paul Kuharsky PodcastNASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Titans are talking about how their offseason work is getting them calloused, and that sounds great.

That's a big piece of this week's podcast.

The new episode awaits you on Apple, Spotify, Google Podcasts, TuneIn and YouTube, which is below.

If you're listening on Spotify, Google or TuneIn these are new links and I ask that you please take a second to re-subscribe.
