NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- When he's assessing the Titans' culture he wants to build, Mike Borgonzi's got to factor in the culture that Chad Brinker and Brian Callahan were part of building last year while he was in Kansas City.

Borgonzi said at the owners' meetings that he's still meeting players and hardly knows everyone yet. The calendar dictates it will be a while before he sees their practice personalities and gets his own sense of how they are in meeting rooms and the locker room.

The team's additions so far have personalities team brass thinks will fit the ethos the Titans want, and they will surely try to build on that with their draft picks.

But Borgonzi's entry into something partially built is one of the awkward elements of not having all the decision-makers and the coach on the same clock.

I asked Commanders coach Dann Quinn about how it worked in Washington as he and Adam Peters took over and he said nothing from the past mattered, that it was all about things going forward. That makes perfect since when the coach and GM come in together, on the same timetable. The Titans repeatedly fail to line things up that way.

I discuss this and many other urgent matters in this week's edition of The Paul Kuharsky Podcast.
