NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Titans' path to the No. 1 pick in the NFL draft is pretty direct: They need the Patriots to beat the Bills in New England while losing their finale at Nissan Stadium against the Texans.
Buffalo is locked in as the AFC's No. 2 seed, so the Bills could be resting up for their divisional-round game. They have won three in a row.
The Texans are also locked into their spot as the fourth seed. But they've just lost back-to-back games to other members of the AFC playoff field, 27-19 to the No. 1 Chiefs at Arrowhead on Dec. 21 and 31-2 at home to the Ravens on Christmas.
So Houston may be motivated to get things in order in advance of its first-round game.
Much remains to be seen, and teams who don't field their best players don't always lose.
