While virtually all parts of the Tennessee Titans organization are crashing and/or burning after a 41-20 embarrassment at the hands of the Indianapolis Colts, the disappearance of Calvin Ridley is one of the most concerning. There are a multitude of factors in the Titans’ offensive dysfunction thus far, but the lack of a clear alpha No. 1 wide receiver is an especially glaring hole.
Coming off of an extremely productive 2024 season, which included a slow start, all signs pointed to an incoming breakout for Ridley. After a 1,000-yard season with less-than-ideal quarterback play, fans and analysts alike anointed him as the next significant breakout candidate under the guise of Tennessee’s new franchise quarterback. Through three games, this allotted breakout season feels like a distant dream.
