If you missed my primer for the offense, you can read that here, including a lede that breaks down the Titans' current cap situation.
Of course, since the writing of that piece, the Titans have released Harold Landry, a move that I mentioned was likely, but is now confirmed. That raises the Titans projected 2025 cap space up to just shy of $61 million, the eighth-highest total in the NFL according to OverTheCap.com as of this writing.

While this move does intensify their need at edge slightly, it certainly doesn’t tip a potential selection of Abdul Carter with the top overall pick. Landry’s release was coming either way and Tennessee still needed to invest heavily at the edge rush position even if they’d chosen to keep Landry on the roster.
The Titans could free up another $11.3 million by releasing Kenneth Murray and Nicholas Petit-Frere. Both of those feel like no-brainers to me, but we’ll see if new GM Mike Borgonzi and the Tennessee brain trust agree with that thought process.
Either way, the Titans will have plenty of cap space to fill some holes on both sides of the ball aggressively. Here, we’ll run through each position group on defense to assess the current state of the roster and some of the best available options set to hit the market next week.
