INDIANAPOLIS – The Titans have set up the first four of their official 30 visits for NFL Draft prospects to their Nashville headquarters.
The team with the No. 1 pick will, naturally, host the four top candidates for the selection – edge Abdul Carter, cornerback/receiver Travis Hunter and quarterbacks Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders -- before the March 12 start of free agency.
Roughly six of the team's other 30 visits will be for first-round options in a trade-down scenario with the other 20 for players they are inclined to learn more about who they could draft in later rounds.
Beyond No. 1, the Titans hold No. 35 in the second round, their pick and Seattle’s pick in the fourth, theirs and Kansas City’s pick in the fifth, a sixth-rounder and a seventh-rounder.
The exact numbers of the picks in the fourth round and later are not yet known as 32 compensatory selections have not yet been announced. They are tacked onto the end of rounds three through seven.
The Titans also intend to hold several private “workouts” where they visit prospects in their hometowns for a day of film work and more. Prospects typically decline to actually do any working out in those settings.
The team’s top four personnel executives – Chad Brinker, Mike Borgonzi, Reggie McKenzie and Dave Ziegler will spread out around the country for college Pro Days, overlapping at some of the most significant ones and taking on others individually.
