With the 2026 NFL Draft just over a week away, mock drafts continue to flow. When it comes to the Titans, the same handful of positions — wide receiver, edge rusher and interior offensive line — show up again and again.

However, there are two defensive holes currently on the roster that are just as glaring and rarely talked about. Both nickel corner and off-ball linebacker are equally significant holes in the roster.

Linebacker

When it comes to the need at linebacker, it’s much more of a result of new head coach Robert Saleh’s incoming defensive schematic revolution then it necessarily is the personnel. While Tennessee could certainly stand to upgrade from Cody Barton, a tandem of Cedric Gray and Barton is more than serviceable. In Saleh’s scheme, however (which is primarily a 4-2-5 defense), starkly different roles are played by the linebackers in comparison to former DC Dennard Wilson’s defense.
