PHOENIX -- With Super Bowl LXIII officially awarded to Las Vegas, the first possible game Nashville can host is Super Bowl LXIV in February of 2030.
That game would take place after the Titans play their third season in new Nissan Stadium, which is set to open in 2027.
Peter O’Reilly, the NFL's executive vice president for club business, international & league events, said Amy Adams Strunk and Burke Nihill made a presentation in a large session on Monday morning at the owners meetings about new Nissan Stadium.
It was an update on how the venue will transform the East Bank of the Cumberland River and was not Super-Bowl specific, but served to put the stadium on everyone's mind. Nashville was chosen to represent the current era of stadium expansion and it was well-received, per Reilly.
Others I spoke to said the presentation was a big hi
Reilly said thoughts of the next venue for the big game begin Tuesday.
"We'll move on that process pretty quickly over this next stretch," O'Reilly said. "We're obviously excited about Nashville as a city, and the stadium."
I asked Reilly about weather as a factor for a Nashville Super Bowl.
"It's always a factor," he said. "But it's not a disqualifying factor."
Earlier this week, Nihill talked about how if Las Vegas got XLIII it would actually bode well for Nashville as a rotational Super Bowl city.
Executives connected to the Las Vegas game said there were over 300 events connected to the city's first Super Bowl, when the Chiefs beat the 49ers on Feb. 11, 2024.
