Turnovers, Cam Ward's pocket problems, protection failures and a lack of answers against two-high coverage are keeping the Titans trapped in a destructive offensive cycle

After an already soul-sucking 0-4 start to the Titans’ 2026 season, many fans are left asking, “How much worse can things really get?” Well, that question was definitively answered this past Sunday when Tennessee managed to excavate rock bottom – getting destroyed by the similarly 0-4 Houston Texans in a blowout 26-3 loss in the midst of a half-full Nissan Stadium.
As if the loss itself wasn’t dismal enough, history seems to repeat itself in cruel ways for the Titans. This lashing feels eerily similar to Week 4 of last season, when the winless Titans again met the winless Texans, producing a near-identical result of 26-0 in favor of Houston.
A year later, after suffering yet another early-season blowout loss to their division rivals, things feel just as, if not more, hopeless surrounding the team in Nashville. Now sitting at 0-5, the Titans are staring down the barrel of their worst start to a season in 17 years.
In this catastrophic home loss, the Titans’ offense went completely catatonic after their first drive of the game – scoring a whopping 0 points after their opening-drive field goal. The issues plaguing Tennessee’s offense run deep, and the unit is currently on pace for a historically poor finish. There’s much, much more than merely one root poison within Tennessee’s offense, and the film puts their plethora of problems on painful display.
