NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Mike Vrabel's Monday comment about a locker room leader not needing to be a productive player surprised me.
Leadership is not based on production, says Mike Vrabel. (If he’s pointing to Dion Lewis as a top offensive leader, the #Titans’ issues are even bigger than I thought, I say.) pic.twitter.com/B8bb9LEtEV

That's the stance of one former multiple Super Bowl-winning Patriot.
I asked another with the same credentials for his thoughts on the topic.

I'm not pitting Vrabel and Ryan against each other here. I made sure Ryan was aware of what Vrabel had said.
A disagreement on a topic doesn't mean a disconnect on the team.
I prefer Ryan's stance here. Anyway, the Titans need leadership and production so how about a package deal from some Titans who play outside of the secondary.
There are guys who have produced in the past who maybe don't have the same opportunity now who are certainly still qualified to lead based on what they've done.
Wesley Woodyard jumps to mind there.
