Yeah, I did it, I picked the Titans to go to the Super Bowl

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Believe me, I am surprised as you are.

And I've got no history of picking anything right with any consistency.

But on Thursday's edition of The Midday180 it was time for us to lay out how we expected the NFL season to play out.

LamarHuntTrophyI think Kansas City is immensely talented. But there have been a lot of immensely talented teams coming off of Super Bowl wins who've failed to repeat, and several of them have been coached by Bill Belichick and quarterbacked by Tom Brady. If it was too hard for them a lot of the time, well...

We haven't seen a team repeat since the Patriots in Feb. of 2005. I'm banking on the continuation of that trend.]

Baltimore is a very good team that made some significant moves that make it better.

But as a first-hand witness to the Ravens' unraveling at the hands of the Titans in January, no matter how many times I roll it through in my head I can't get that blueprint out of my head, not that everyone can execute what the Titans did.

And there I am with the team I think is the third-best in the AFC.

I love Mike Vrabel as a coach. A Final Four team has added a defensive disruptor in Jadecveon Clowney and a pass-catching running back in Darrynton Evans. It's got a second-year play-caller in Arthur Smith who was really good once he had a legitimate quarterback to work with. I think they'll find ways to replace Dean Pees and the defense will be good enough to win.

We're talking about the backup quarterback and the receiver depth as the big questions.

They should be good.

Are they making it to Tampa Bay for Super Bowl on LIV on Feb. 7, 2021? Hey, it's a prediction.

But you have to admit it'd be very Titan-like if there's a Super Bowl that doesn't have full capacity at Raymond James Stadium -- a real COVID-19 possibility -- and Tennessee is in it.
